Jamestown, RI: Arriving by Road or by
Air
Jamestown
is easily accessible by road from most of the Northeast.
It is located 25 miles south of Providence, on Conanicut
Island in Narragansett Bay. Route 138 crosses the island;
connecting with Interstate 95 and US 1 to the west and
with Newport to the east (see local map further down
page). Travel time from Boston is about an hour and a
half and New York City is about three and a half hours.

Arriving Through
TF Green (PVD) Airport
The airport is about 25 minutes
away - in Warwick, just
south of Providence. (See map
below.) |

When
leaving the airport, the main
access road will take you to I-95
( at Exit 13).
Go south on I-95, then follow
the directions immediately below for
arrival from the north.

The TF Green Airport is quite convenient and offers a wide
range of connections. More information is

Arriving
by Car from the
North
(MA, VT, ME, Northern NY):
Take I-95 South, past
Providence. Several miles past the TF
Green airport, take Exit #9 onto
Route 4 (bear left) Continue for
several miles, then exit onto
Route 138 East to Jamestown/
Newport.

Arriving
by Car from
South & West (PA, NJ, NYC, Southern
CT):
Take I-95 North. Seven
miles into Rhode Island, take
Exit 3A onto Route 138 East.

Follow
Route 138 to Jamestown. (Route
138 and US 1 merge for about two miles -
see larger map above.)
Total driving time on
Route 138, from I-95 to Jamestown, will
be about 45 minutes
